New Hyundai Veloster 2019
In 2011, Hyundai introduced the unique hatchback Veloster with an oddball three-door design that stood out amid a sea of two and four-door cars. Seven years later, the design that once stood out hasn’t aged particularly well. Cue the 2019 Hyundai Veloster redesign, announced at the Detroit Auto Show, which upgrades everything from the exterior to the interior.
The original spirit of the Veloster is still present with the 2019 redesign. Yes, the three door design makes its return. here will be two available engine options for the 2019 Veloster. The standard version will have Hyundai’s Nu 2.0-liter Atkinson’s style four-cylinder engine. Powering the Turbo Veloster is a direct injection 1.6-liter Gamma four that delivers 201 horsepower and 195-pound feet of torque. There’s an additional seven pound feet with overboost turned on. It’s available as a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Hyundai took great care in refining the Veloster. The front grille looks more elegant and pristine, the side profiles have been modernized with sleek curves and the back hatch has been refined to something a little less busy. The Turbo variant comes with the added detail of the center dual exhaust with the chrome tips. Hyundai didn’t skimp out on the interior for the Veloster. The leather-wrapped steering wheel, red accent colors and all-black scheme give off a upscale allure. This is complimented by the available Qi wireless charging pad and 8-inch infotainment touch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
